ALADDIN project was presented to EU Members States

During the Counter-UAS Workshop with Member States that was held on 23 May in Brussels, the ALADDIN project was presented to EU Members States and European Commission representatives. The “Workshop with EU Member States on countering the threat posed by unmanned aerial systems (UAS)” was organized by DG HOME inviting all EU Member States and the relevant services within the Commission in order to discuss the threat, recent incidents, and ongoing mitigation activities The event focused on the existing challenges in countering the drone threat to public spaces, but also critical infrastructure and sensitive sites as UAS become more common and more capable.

On that framework, ALADDIN was the H2020 project that was presented during the afternoon session, depicting the effort made by EU funded research projects to address and counter the threat posed by malicious UAS flying over restricted areas. Some of the results that were collected during the First Pilot in Spain, were presented; thus, the participants would assess the capabilities of each sensor and the necessity of a multi-sensor approach. It is hoped that this first contact with this forum will be pursued during the remainder of the project.
